Garden Centre Role Play/Story of the Week & Cress Growing!

This week we have have changed our role play area to a Garden Centre. The children have all planted some cress and hopefully we will be eating egg and cress sandwiches very soon! Our story of the week is about a boy called Billy who learns all about the seasons when his sunflower dies, ah! Hopefully Spring is on it's way.

Food tasting for Chinese New Year!!

The nursery children have been tasting Chinese food today. They have had a choice from sweet and sour sauce, prawn crackers, noodles and egg fried rice, yummy.......... Don't forget Tuesday 17th February is PANCAKE DAY....Why don't you let us know how well you tossed your pancake when you come back to nursery after half term.

Chinese New Year/Valentines Day

The nursery children have been making Valentine cards using the dried pasta that we dyed last week! They have also been learning about the year of the goat for Chinese New Year, decorating masks and playing with noodles!! Chinese food tasting next........

Letters and Sounds, rhyming activity!

The children have been learning about rhyming words by singing the silly soup song!

Story of the week

We are celebrating Chinese New Year and as it is the year of the goat our story this week is all about the 'Three Billy Goats Gruff'. Arthur, Jake, Ffion, Rio and Taylor acted out the story with Miss Sylvester. The Three Billy Goats Gruff want to eat the green grass on the other side of the river. But will they dare to cross the bridge that the big, bad troll lives under?

Outside playing!

The children just love to play outside. They can choose to play inside or out. I don't think they really feel the cold!!!!
