Our last 'Story of the Week' this year!

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!" sang Santa very noisily. It was Christmas Eve, and his favourite time of the year. Story of the Week

Little Beaver lives all alone by the edge of the pond. He has no familiy and he has no friends. He's a very sad and lonely beaver. But one day, when he starts to cry, he hears someone else crying too, on the other side of the pond....... So begins his touching quest for a friend.

A visit from Pudsey bear!

Wow, the afternoon children were treated to a visit from the one and only Pudsey bear. Don't forget it's non uniform day this Friday in order to raise funds for Children In Need. Your child might also like to have 'Mad Hair'.

Library bus visit

Emily and Aiden went to visit the lirary bus on Monday. Oh dear me... we seem to have lost a book. Keep your eyes out for 'A Very Messy Monkey'. If you see it can you let Miss Adams know!!!

Autumn Parent/Carer Workshop

We have received a thank you card from Barnardo's. It reads, "To all at Albert Village Nursery. Thank you all so much for all your lovely donations. All the money raised by Barnardo's goes to help children that have had or are having a hard time. The items you have donated will help change a young persons life. National Curry Week

The children have been trying lots of different foods today to help celebrate national curry week, including rice, nann bread, poppadoms and curry sauce. Very yummy, some children even asked for more!!

Wow, wonderful name writing Isaac! The children have been practising writing their names so that they can label the hand and footprints they have created!

Dinosaurs Love Underpants!

The dinosaurs were all wiped out, a long way back in history. No one knows quite how or why, now this book solves the mystery............ Please take the time to talk to your child about the story. See if they can descibe the different styles of underpants and which dinosaurs really liked wearing them!!

The Gruffalo

Walk further into the deep dark wood, and discover what happens when the quick thinking mouse comes face to face with an owl, a snake, a fox and a very hungry gruffalo!! This is the story we are reading in nursery at the moment and the children love it.....

After attending the year 6 leavers assembly, the morning children played outside and had an end of year tea party!!

Miss Adams has also graduated!

Many congratulations to Miss Adams for graduating with a distinction on her course, the Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Miss Adams attended Staffordshire University and the ceremony was held at Trentham Gardens. Roll on next year for the BA (Hons) in Education!!!

We will miss all the children who will be leaving us to go into Reception class in September. We wish them all the best and hope that they continue to learn and develop while having lots of fun!!

Graduation Ceremony

Well done to all our nursery leavers for attending our 'Graduation Ceremony'. It was lovely to see so many parents and carers taking the time to show their appreciation for all the children. On behalf of all the staff I would like to take this opportunity to say it has been an honour and a privilege to care for the children and we wish them well as they continue along their learning journey into school.

Celebration Assembly

Well done to Reese, Reuben, Lexi and Micah for receiving their  'Star of the Week' certificates from Mrs Savage during celebration assembly. All four children had some lovely comments from the staff and their friends. Mrs Savage commented on how well all the nursery children sat during assembly, which was lovely to hear.

Visiting Reception Class for transition time...

Some of our nursery children have been visiting reception class today during transition day. Miss Farley said  "They are all very quiet and well behaved, well done".  

Tractor Ride!

All the nursery children have been fortunate enough to have a lovely tractor ride today, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Soper. A big thank you goes out to Berti the tractor!! The children had such a great time that we struggled to get them back into nursery!!

Summer Fair 2013

A big thank you to all those nursery parents and carers who donated all these lovely cakes for the fair. Mrs Orme, Mrs Lemm, Mrs Brealey and Mrs Steer managed to sell the lot in 50 minutes!!! Well done to all the nursery staff for being such great cake sales persons!!! We raised £90.00 towards the PFA fund, brilliant.

Celebration Assembly

Well done to Kieran, Dyllan and Harry for receiving their 'Star of the Week' certificates from Mrs Savage during celebration assembly. Kierans was for persevering when packing away the dinosaurs and Dyllan had a certificate because she always plays nicely with her friends. Harry received his for imaginative role play with his friends. Well done to you all.

Nursery Annual Sports Day Event

Well done to all the nursery children for a wonderful sports day. A big thank you to Mrs Dennis, Mrs Eaton, Mrs Coates and Mrs Twigg for their help with the refreshments and the nursery staff were also fabulous!! Thanks to the PFA £48.00 was raised, which will go directly to the nursery. A great time was had by all.

School Sports Day

Well done to all the school children for a wonderful sports day event. The nursery children and staff had a lovely time watching all the races. Neptune were victorious!

Writing and drawing with water and paintbrushes

The nursery children have been outside today drawing and writing using different sized paintbrushes. Numbers and letters were written along with pictures of family members. Some children also took it upon themselves to paint the bin, fence and benches!!

Nursery Trip 2013

The annual nursery trip this year was a visit to The National Forest Adventure Farm. What a wonderful time we all had. The weather was fine and there were so many animals to feed we didnt know what to do first! There was lots to do including a tractor and trailer ride, racing car rides and inside soft play. Well done to all the children and grown ups for a fabulous day out!

Tractor and trailer ride

We all had great fun having a ride on the tractor and trailer. We went all around the farm and had to shout "scarecrow" if we saw one, as there were many dotted all over the farm. See if you can spot any?

Milking the cow....

This cow was being milked by a machine. The cow didn't seem to be bothered and afterwards was given a treat!!

Feeding time at the farm....

Mrs Orme and Mrs Lemm took it upon themselves to feed the calves. Both members of staff really enjoyed this activity.

Nursery trip 2013

We all had a fabulous time at the National Forest Adventure Farm. Not sure who had the most fun though!!

Beat baby time....

The morning children have been rhyming with Beat baby today. Mrs Orme showed the children what to do and they all joined in really well. Beat baby said the children's rhyming was so good that she will come out to play another day. Thank you Beat baby.

A visit from PC Archer and PC McDonald

A big thank you to our local police officers, who came to visit the afternoon nursery children on Monday.

Some of the children were very happy to ask questions and volunteer when needed!

Not sure what Mrs Orme has been up too!! The police officers talked about lots of different things, such as their mode of transport and the area in which they patrol. The children were very well behaved and Mrs Orme was released eventually!!

Well done to Isaac for visiting the mobile library with Miss Adams. Isaac chose lots of different reading material for his friends in nursery.
